A large part of the issue of my Web site which I wrote just after the Chinese Communist Government captured the
crew of an American electronic intelligence-gathering plane.
I was very upset at that incident and wrote an analysis of Chinese designs on other countries in East Asia by which I
still stand - at that time, these ambitions of the Chinese leadership seemed the most likely reason that China would essentially
destroy their relations with the US. I also reprinted a letter I'd sent to President Bush urging him to take the very
hardest line against the Chinese Politburo possible and demonstrate American resolve to fly in international airspace, as
the downed plane had been doing. (My friends and I thought an appopriate demonstration might be to send the next E-3 plane
up escorted by a combat air patrol of Tomcat or Hornet fighters armed with a full complement of air-to-air warshots.)
